Conference-Organizer WASET Continues Copying Names of Legitimate Conferences

Bogus conferences.

The bogus conference organizer, WASET, based in Turkey and Azerbaijan, continues to rip-off the names of legitimate conferences, using them to name its own conferences, hoping — I think — to trick researchers into registering and attending them.

In this case, WASET has organized a conference called International Conference on Systems Biology. This name duplicates the name of a conference organized by a legitimate scholarly society called the International Society for Systems Biology (ISSB). This legitimate society last held its conference in Barcelona in September 2016.

WASET holds dozens of its conferences simultaneously at the same hotel. Here is a small selection of WASET conferences that will be held in the same hotel (Crown Plaza Dubai) at the same time in 2017:

Additional conferences being held at the same hotel and the same time can be found here.

WASET conferences are organized like wholesale markets, with hundreds of presentations given one after the other from many different fields, different conferences held simultaneously.

The early registration fee for this conference is €450. WASET is making a fortune by offering easy paper acceptance for the hundreds of conferences it organizes each year.

All universities should stop granting academic credit for papers presented at WASET conferences or published by WASET.

The legitimate conference.
